Living Well with Breathlessness
Monday: 12.45 – 2.15, Seaburn Lodge, Monkwearmouth Hospital (4 week course)
The living well with breathlessness class is a group that is designed for people with physical heath conditions which cause breathlessness such as COPD and Asthma. We look at the link between breathlessness, anxiety and low mood and teach you skills and strategies to manage these. We use techniques based on CBT principles, looking at how changing what we do and how we thin can have a big impact on how we feel emotionally and physically. We look to support you in working towards the goals that you would like to achieve. Whilst there is no obligation to speak during the class, people often find it helpful to share their experience of living with breathlessness with others in the group which creates a warm and friendly environment.
